My name is Emily Popham, I'm 25 years old and I live in West Bridgford, Nottingham, where I also work for Rushcliffe Community and Voluntary Service as Communications Administrator. Although that is my job, the work that I'm most excited about is the work I do for the church. I have been serving as part of a leadership team for a contemporary cafe style church in West Bridgford which is called 'Something Else', which is based at St. Giles.

'Something Else' is a missional church; it aims to reach out to people, especially young professionals and those between 15-30 - an age group which is largely missing from churches in the UK today - and to bring them Christ through a style of church that is informal, culturally relevant and accessible.

From September this year I'm going to start a part-time course at St. John's College at Bramcote, Nottingham, to study for a Graduate Certificate in Theology and Ministry for evangelism. I'm very excited about having the opportunity to get a solid theological grounding and to also have time to do a placement with Peterson Feital who is the Parish Evangelist at St. Giles. I'd like to be able to use the qualification and experience I'll gain from the course to help teach and train people about evangelism and discipleship - possibly through working for a church and then eventually a national Christian organisation. Since I'll be dropping a couple of days' work, I need to raise some finances to help me cover my living costs.
